goals
In a post-Proposal 2 environment, Campus Lockdown aims to spark a public, re-evaluative conversation on the politics of women of color scholarship at the University of Michigan and elsewhere.
Participants will discuss:
• The relationship between women of color scholarship, and climate, retention, & resources for students and faculty of color.
• The politics of tenure, disciplinary formations, and multiculturalism.
• The relationship between social justice, ethnic/women’s studies, and the academic industrial complex.
• The role of pedagogy and publicly-engaged scholarship in the academic industrial complex.
Campus Lockdown comprises panels and break-out sessions in which participants will explore multiple dimensions of the politics of women of color scholarship, then plan actions to take following the conference.
